Personal
Born and raised in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, Joanne and her husband Mike O’Brien, moved to Rapid City with the intent of staying only 2 years, but 37 years later, Rapid City is officially home. Although widowed in 1992, Joanne finds joy and fulfillment in her work and with her family and friends. Joanne has a daughter, Amy, and two wonderful granddaughters, Grace and Kate.
Joanne is a Registered Nurse, but moved from nursing to pursue real estate in 1986. Trust, honesty and fairness are the foundation Joanne has built her business on. She was recognized early in her career with the Don Zenk award, which she received only 1 year after starting her real estate business. This award is nominated and chosen by Black Hills REALTORS® and is usually reserved for individuals that have been in the business for several years. Joanne not only won the award in 1987, but was nominated again in 2009. This is an example of Joanne’s dedication to her clients and fellow REALTORS®.
On any given day, you may see Joanne walking the bike path with her dog Reggie. She also enjoys gardening and bowling. And if she has a spare weekend, she is spending it with her granddaughters in Bozeman.
